Celebrate LGBTQ+ history with programmes like Gamechangers: Transmilitary and The Beyonce Experience. For the largest part of history people in the LGBTQ+ community have not been able to express themselves and have their voices heard, which is why having a platform to share their stories is so important.
We spend a lot of time in our homes, and it should be a place where you can relax, decompress, and practise self-care. Self-care is hard to practise in a space that doesn’t reflect the happiness you are trying to accomplish.
Through sprucing up your home and doing things that will make you happy, you will be able to set and achieve attainable self-care goals.
As they say, there's no better time than the present to kickstart a new habit. And self-care is often left at the bottom of our priotry lists. However, whatever stage of your life you're in, it's always important to care for your health and well-being.
A simple way to start your self-care routine is to look at it in terms of pillars. This might sound like a lot, but once you know them, you can better recognise what needs work in your life instead of trying to do everything.
LGBT+ History Month is every February and was started to give visibility to Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people, their history, lives and their experiences through curriculum and the wider community. Holocaust Memorial Day occurs annually on 27th January. It is a day for everyone to remember the millions of people who were murdered in the Holocaust under Nazi rule and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.
The day is observed in many ways and is important for reminding people of the devastating effects racism, hatred and discrimination has had. It is a chance for people to teach, learn and grow to protect our societies and people.
