Help change lives by submitting your film

Our ethos is to inspire positive change. We’re available in all UK TV homes across Freeview, Sky, Sky Glass, Virgin Media, Freesat along with a livestream on our website. Over 80% of our viewers tell us they learn more by watching the channel then go on to do more in their community. We are the world’s only cooperatively-owned national broadcaster – we’re an independent Community Benefit Society, backed by 250 community shareholders and the media industry. We know what our viewers like, what motivates them and we want to work with you!

Who we are talking to

Our viewers are community-minded, mainstream and engaged. They live in terraces, suburbs and towns across the UK, largely aged over 55, living with their partner (kids have grown up and moved out) or by themselves. They like traditional TV and radio, buy newspapers, shop in supermarkets (not online), don’t do much streaming (maybe iPlayer or ITVX, definitely no Netflix) or social media (only Facebook). They like going out to eat, going to the pub, visiting heritage sites and getting involved in community.

Viewers love our programming – particularly our gardening series, travelogues and nostalgic retro films.

Almost all viewers learn more by watching the channel, most talk to others about what they watch, many seek more information and change their views.

What we’re looking for

We know our viewers want to be entertained and informed. We promote feeling good and doing good. We are a real lives channel and so are primarily looking for distinctively British documentaries and series. These could be around community heritage, travel or nature, or a personal story that hasn’t been told before. We like to cast a light on unseen lives and stories - Britain in all its glorious diversity of people, places, cultures and lifestyles.

We are looking for programmes that fit regular half-hour (20-22 minutes) and hour-long (44-46 minutes) broadcast slots to ensure our schedules are consistent and viewers can join on the hour. We are also interested in short films up to around 10 minutes in duration. If you have a short film or campaign film running under five minutes we may be able to show it in a slot between programmes.

We can only broadcast programmes which have all the rights cleared for them. This includes any third-party material rights (such as commercial music, archive film, stills/images). You also need to ensure all contributors and relevant locations have signed release forms. It is up to the producer (you) to clear all music in your films with publishers, labels and talent as required. Without this we cannot air your film.

We try to keep things as simple as possible but you will need to deliver to broadcast standards in terms of video, audio, title-safe graphics and file codecs. We will share the tech specs with you after the film submission stage.

How we help you

Our team will find the best showcase for your film or series. We will promote the film on TV and across our website, CRM and digital marketing channels. If you need a letter of support to secure production funding we will try to help you and offer advice about funders to approach.

How to submit your film

Submit via email to info@togethertv.com including your contact details along with a viewing copy and description of your film.

A team member will then get in touch if we’d like to progress things.

Good luck!
