5 ways to deal with your stress
April marks Stress Awareness Month, a time to pause, reflect, and take some time for ourselves. It’s important that we don’t let the little things take over our well-being. Whether it be in our everyday lives, relationships or at work. Stress affects us in different ways.
This year, the theme is #LeadWithLove and, we wanted to highlight ways to put our well-being and the people around us first while putting our best foot forward.
To help you manage stress, we’ve put together some tips to help you explore how to manage stress by leading with love, starting with yourself and extending outward.
Be kind to yourself:
Begin with yourself. Take a moment to acknowledge your feelings without judgment. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup so make sure you take the time for yourself this month and do something you enjoy, such as taking yourself out, walking in nature, or meditating for 20 minutes.

Reach Out and Connect
We always love a cuppa with a friend or neighbour, even if you don’t have the time for this, sending a message or calling a loved one can help fill the gratitude. Send a message or call someone you haven't spoken to in a while. A simple "thinking of you" can brighten someone's day and strengthen your bond.
Find time to journal your thoughts
With so many thoughts in our mind, it’s easy to be wound up by our thoughts, take 10 minutes at the start and end of your day to journal. This can be a great way to release your thoughts on paper. Ask yourself: What’s been weighing on me lately? Where do I feel that stress—in my body, my mind, or my emotions? Jot it down. Not to solve it instantly, but to acknowledge it. Self-awareness is the first step toward healing.
Reclaim One Thing That Brings You Joy
What’s something you used to enjoy, but haven’t made time for recently? Today, return to it—even if just for 10 or 15 minutes. It could be phainting, dancing, gardening, reading, or just watching your favourite old film.
Joy isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline.
Love Where You Are
Your surroundings impact your stress levels more than you might think. Today, do one thing to bring calm into your space—open a window, tidy your desk, light a candle, or add a little greenery. A peaceful space invites a peaceful mind.
We hope you’ve found small ways to reconnect with what matters: compassion, connection, and care. Remember, even the smallest act of love can change someone’s day, starting with your own.
