Time commitment: 0.5 days per month

We are looking for a trustee to join the board to represent the views and interests of the charity, voluntary and social good sector specifically, alongside the wider trustee duties. This is an opportunity for someone who works within the sector and has a deep understanding of the sector landscape, including proven track record of fundraising. As the trustee representing the charity sector you will be passionate about strengthening society’s understanding of social issues, have experience building partnerships and driving change on a local and national level.

This is a unique trusteeship, where you can influence how a TV channel operates and drives social change. The Board of Trustees act in the best interests of the society and its beneficiaries, safeguarding the long-term future of the organisation and ensuring there is a clear, shared vision and clarity on our aims. Each trustee has a duty of compliance, care and prudence, and trustees ensure that a clear strategic direction is set, and the CBS is well-managed operationally by the CEO and team.

Our Rules specify that our board is made up from representatives from our membership, media partners and the charity sector. Trustees need to attend four Board meetings each year, serve on a subcommittee and attend an annual Strategy Day. You may also be asked to represent the organisation at events.
