Together TV moves for good

The fast-growing channel moves to Freeview 88

Together TV, the UK’s social change broadcaster – and the world’s only supporter-owned national TV channel – is moving to Freeview 88 on Wednesday the 20thNovember.

After 20 months since its launch, the channel is one of the fastest-growing TV channels in the UK in 2019 (source: Digital-I, BARB data), reaching 2.5m viewers per month spread across the UK. Research shows that Together TV has motivated more "viewers do more with their life” and “to do more in their local communities” than other comparable TV channels. (Opinium survey, September 2019)

Together TV helps viewers find inspiration for social change through entertaining content – by showing real-life stories, activities and social issues that promote participation in national campaigns and causes. By encouraging people to get involved in campaigns that offer relevant, practical and achievable things to do, the channel promotes healthier lifestyles, improved mental wellbeing and increased social connections amongst its viewers.

To mark the occasion of the move on Freeview, the charitable channel for social good will air for the first time the short film We are Together TV, made by award winning director Thomas Martin. The film will premiere on Wednesday the 20thNovember at 6.15pm

Alexander Kann, Chief Executive of Together said:“These great results have been made possible thanks to the media industry’s fantastic support for Together TV. Our media partners have been the driving force of our recent Together for Good campaign, developed by BBC Creative with Viacom, Guardian Media Group and Goodstuff, and kindly supported by ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Discovery Inc, A+E Networks UK, TI-Media, Clear Channel, Ocean Outdoor, Pearl & Dean, The Telegraph and Facebook. We are so grateful for this support and we have big plans for 2020”.
