It is time to Build our Heroes

On Friday 8th May 2020 will mark the 75th anniversary of the formal end of the Second World War in Europe. This is where we will commemorate the battles that took place and also respect the battles that took place after this date - and there could not be a more meaningful moment to celebrate our unity and sense of togetherness and community.

Starting on VE Day, we’ll be airing a wide range of TV Premieres >> which will include historic, inspiring documentaries highlighting exclusive colour footage, eyewitnesses’ stories that have never been heard before, documents that have remained a secret until now, recently found photographs and much more.

VE Day is all about the commemoration of all our veterans and a charity like Building Heroes >> are here to help those heroes find a new skill set, get back into reality, finding their inner confidence and much more.

Building Heroes is a charity that provides building trade skills to military veterans and offers a seamless transition for them back into civilian life. The intensive courses will teach you everything from brickwork, painting and domestic plumbing to producing components and hand fitting techniques. Not only providing a course regime to study, Building Heroes is also here to help with the transition into the work force upon completion of the course.

The charity has also been making sure that the military veterans are assisted into employment with a sense of worth so richly deserved, and evidently it shows that the charity is a success with this - “Thank you to the people who supplies the funding for Building Heroes. It has allowed me to enter back into the job market which is absolutely fantastic; I am looking forward to what the future holds.” – Mark Taylor.

We are supporting Building Heroes because we as a channel believe in doing good in communities and lives through helping and inspiring. Our DIY shows highlight a great way as to how we interact with Building Heroes. The DIY shows that feature on our channel like Home DIY hosted by Dave Wellman attribute great tips, skills and more that many can learn especially if  you are unemployed and looking for innovation.
