As the only community-owned national TV broadcaster, dedicated to motivating people to do more for others, we are concerned about the future of our high streets and the impact this has on our communities. Shops are closing, jobs are being lost and bustling areas of local life are becoming desolate.
We would love to know what is happening and is needed in your community to improve things.

5 years 7 months agoI live on the Romney walk estate in Blackburn I would love to more things for the young teenagers like a club for them more activities because at the moment they all get together on the children's play ground drinking smoking because they have no we're else to go and to see my estate cleaned up more skips every couple of months

5 years 7 months agoOur high street is mostly charity shops.pound shops and cafe/sandwich shops. So there is little or no reason to go there

5 years 7 months agoLack of parking spaces and parking charges are a major hindrance to shopping in town centres.
Rates are too high for some shops, adding to higher prices.

5 years 7 months agoThe town I live in is in crisis, even one of the charity shops has closed down, quite a large factory shop has closed down. Even some of the pubs don't open until the weekend even then their not full anymore.

5 years 7 months agoOur local high street is shrinking and it’s become even harder for shops for trade/local jobs/access due to more shops closing including charity shops who can’t afford rent/earn enough through sales, more people go out of town to outlets or where there are more shops and our council now want to introduce more permit parking/pay to park which will decrease shoppers/visitors add financial implications to workers and those who volunteer which is aukful. It’s so sad to see I only hope the council amend there plan and listen to the local people to prevent further high street devostation!?!

5 years 7 months agoi feel we need the high street shops without them people who don't have internet access will struggle with buying products the internet is killing the high street and we need to do something about this if we don't act in the next 10 to 30 years there be no shops to go to and you have buy everything online.

5 years 7 months agoLoved M&S clothes for my children.never stop doing shopping at M&S. Even i bought clothes for my husband grsnd kids.clothes at M&S last longer than other brand i bought.loved to win this competition will treat my 4 children for christmas.

5 years 6 months agoIf you look at any failing town centre or high street same issues causing problems high rents, car parking costs and carparking companies and the internet. So we need to fight for cheaper rents and car psrking costs and get rid of companies like Smart Parking Ltd and make buying off internet less attractive or at least have stores where ypu ordet online for local pickup

5 years 6 months agoOn the small Island where I live there are not really anywhere for families to go to . Although it’s a seaside town in the winter parts of it are dead . It would be wondeorful if there was a place where we could skating, soft play, cinema, bowling etc all under one roof .

5 years 6 months agoLocal shops are closing down way too often in our town. They are all going to retail parks what about the elderly/disabled who's only please is going to the shops for a bit of company. We need somewhere for our elderly people to meet people
